Have you jumped onto the Essential Oil bandwagon? If you haven't noticed, people are talking about Essential Oils everywhere! Maybe you have a friend who is a distributor and are already buying or maybe this is brand new to you! I began looking into essential oils when a friend suggested Peppermint Oil for Migraines, Now I use them almost daily. My favorite oils to use are Peppermint, Grapefruit and Lemon. We are trying to live a more toxic free life and that started our journey with Essential Oils.

There are many different companies that you can buy your oils from some MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) or Non MLM. The key is finding a company that you're able to research and get independent testing from. I have tried most of the oil companies out there and my favorite Non MLM company is Eden's Garden. There are pro's and con's with using MLM companies but I love the price and quality of Eden's Garden oils. If you are just starting out and not working with a MLM company, I totally recommend Eden's Garden. They have a great website and you can also order on Amazon!

So are you ready to dive into essential oils? Here is my Top 7 list of Beginner Must Have essential oils! Each item listed has been purchased and used by my family! 1. Peppermint This is a must have oil for every beginner's collection and was my first oil that I purchased. It is used mostly for headaches, aches and pains and in homemade cleaning supplies. I love the freshness this adds when I mix it into my window cleaning mixture. Remember to always use a carrier oil when applying topically.
2. Grapefruit Grapefruit is another one of my favorites I use daily. I use this for mid day pick me ups, stress and fatigue. I use this daily in my diffuser and love to have it diffusing in my car in the mornings! Though I haven't used this for lotions, I imagine it would smell great! It is a very light and subtle scent and is great for beginners
3. Lemon Lemon is a powerhouse essential oil. It's perfect for all things cleaning. Add this to your DIY cleaners to have things just smell clean. I love to use this in my diffuser after chopping onions or cooking something that leaves an unpleasant scent. Eden's Garden Lemon has a very Strong Smell. A Little goes a long way!
4. Lavender If you are just starting your Essential Oil research, I am sure you have heard all about Lavender! Lavender is another must have beginner essential oil. It's calming qualities will help you rest easy in the evenings. I love to make a DIY Linen Spray with lavender and spray on my sheets and linens. Try rubbing lavender oil directly on your wrist to help with anxiety or nervousness. At night, diffuse in a diffuser to relax and wind down.
5. Sunshine Spice Blend sunshine Spice Blend is a blend of six essential oils. Sweet Orange, Cinnamon Bark, Cinnamon Leaf, Gurjun Balsam, Camphor and Eucalyptus are all blending together to create Sunshine Spice Blend. I love this blend! If you are new to essential oils and haven't heard or tried a blend, Eden's Garden has some of the best ones. I love sunshine spice because it reminds me of Christmas. This is a great oil to diffuse around the holidays or when your family is gathering together. I diffused this on Christmas and everyone thought it was just wonderful! I think this one would be great to mix into a DIY holiday lotion.
6. Bergamont Key Lime  Bergamont Key Lime is by far my favorite Essential Oil to diffuse. It smells like being on a tropical vacation. This is a must have simply because it just smells so good. It's sweet but not overpowering and I get more compliments when I diffuse this with guests. I also like to diffuse this one in my car occasionally. If you're looking for a good home air refresher, I can't recommend this one enough. I buy the Largest bottle and re-order as soon as I'm getting low!
7. Eden's Garden 6 Piece Starter Kit My favorite part about Eden's Garden is that they are a Women Owned business and they are not a Multi Level Marketing business set-up.  While I have plenty of friends who are reps for the top Essential Oil MLM's, I haven chosen to buy mine primarily from Eden's Garden and haven't looked back. There is no middle man to drive the cost of the oils up and they are the number 1 non MLM oil company around. They have very reasonably priced starter kits like the one linked above! You get (6) Oils for just under $37 and free shipping with prime! In the starter kit you get (4) of my must have oils, Lemon, Lavender, Sunshine spice and Peppermint. If you are thinking about trying multiples, pick up one of their starter kits!

I hope this has been helpful in helping you decide on your first Essential Oils! There is a vast amount of knowledge that I found helpful on Pinterest, Books and Blogs! Do your research and always be safe when using Essential Oils. Eden's Garden recommends NOT ingesting any oil. I prefer to only use topically or diffusing! If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!
